It begins with the current economic boom going on in China today. Millions and millions of Chinese have left the farms to work in the cities producing goods for the west. This has raised the standard of living for these people (even though still far below what we in the west would deem acceptable). With the growth of the Chinese middle class and the lack of farmers I see a looming food crises coming for China. So this should actually be a great time to be an American farmer! This is an area where our technology gives us a heads up - we can grow more food, faster and cheaper than anyone else in the world. So look for a resurgence in the American agricultural sector as China begins to import more and more food from the US. And once we ween them off of rice and get them hooked on wheat it will get even better for the American farmer and the American economy. We already export over $400 million dollars worth of chicken feet to China and look for this to triple or quadruple over the next 10 to 20 years!Oh and Scott - I know you love documentaries and have at least a passing interest in China. The documentary "Last Train Home" is now available on netflix streaming. It is a tremendously moving look at the migration home of the chinese workers during the New Year holiday in China.

Hey Guys it’s Kevin from Raleigh and I have a prediction. People who take "going green" seriously without doing some research on how they may actually be destroying the planet by "going green". My biggest gripe is when I hear that they want to do away with incandescent bulbs and replace them with compact fluoresent. Sure they last longer, but without proper recycling they can be very dangerous. Compact fluorescent bulbs contain mercury, which if thrown away carelessly, can get into ground water and do some serious damage. Other examples are how in places like New York, they spent a ton on changing all of the traffic lights to LED without testing how they would work in cold weather. In the cold, the signals malfunction causing all of the lights to to turn on at the same time thus not allowing the driver or the pedestrian any idea of when to go, stop, yield, or walk. Kinda silly. Love the show, keep up the good work.

I have an annoyance that I want to be a topic on the show.
