Join Scott and Tom and guest as they break down this week’s pilot: Firefly!
Firefly is an American space western drama television series created by writer and director Joss Whedon, under his Mutant Enemy Productions label. Whedon served as an executive producer, along with Tim Minear.
The series is set in the year 2517, after the arrival of humans in a new star system, and follows the adventures of the renegade crew of Serenity, a “Firefly-class” spaceship. The ensemble cast portrays the nine characters who live on Serenity.

First time listening to the show, picked a great episode! Really enjoyed the conversation.
My first time listening also. Yep, I’m a Browncoat, but also an all-around Science Fiction fan. I’m looking Forwad to next week’s podcast on Max Headroom!
The guest’s comment about when they knew they loved the show was the same as mine. I’d like to say though, that when it was airing there were a lot of joss whedon fans who did not like the show. And this was primarily to the confusion of the western sci-fi theme. I think it was hard for people to accept it.
I didnt like Fireflf, but if you want to hear people talk like they did on Firefly come to Newfoundland, or look for some Buddy Wasisnameand the Other Fellers music.
So, what is the recommended order to watch Serenity and Firefly in?
I’d recommend watching the TV series in the order it’s presented on the DVD, then watch Serenity afterwards.
